Meets Evil Dead, Friday the 13th with little ingredients of the resident evil franchise. Some great jumpy bits, the race to stay alive. The only downside i can see in future is the replayability. You'd either trade it in after completion, or if you keep it, you'll one day fancy going through scaring yourself for fun.

Like rewatching favourite horror films. I like it so hats off to capcom for this.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard returns the franchise to its roots by employing survival elements which both 5&6 lacked. The Baker House feels lived in and disturbingly close to what could exist within real life. Crisp and well-textured sound design make the atmosphere foreboding, and the next gen consoles's capability assists with the graphics and ambient lighting through each set piece. The three antagonists (Jack, Mauritte, and Lucas Baker) are presented convincingly by solid voice acting, and a script which does well in bypassing cliches; each of them treat the enviornment differently which therefore creates versatile gameplay. The back story itself surrounding the incident in Louisana is well thought out, and ties in effectively with the games's events - as well as the RE universe as a whole.

Gameplay in itself is fluid, yet the shaky camera and staggers upon abrupt turns add to the tension, especially during chase sequences. I truly loved every second of this game; 10/10 More. Capcom have done an amazing job on this game.

The detail they've put into this is just plain brilliant. If you love the old Resident Evil games like Code Veronica that has all those puzzles and that feeling of terror because you don't know whats round the corner, then this game is for you.

Don't get me wrong the first person aspect was daunting at first, but after the first part of the game (the tutorial basically) I was hooked. It added so much more suspense due to the fact that you could be rummaging through a draw; turn round and BLAM, Mr Baker is standing behind you. To me this game is a masterpiece and has become my favourite Resident Evil game to date. Completed this game roughly 4 times. Good game, good story, combat is perfect but the scares didn't do it for me. The enemy variety is lacklustre. The puzzles are dreadful.

The lighting is good, depending on the brightness you choose. Good thing is, theres replayability for achievements, end game reward depending on how you finish (complete the game in 4 hours for a neat weapon) & Madhouse mode which is a welcoming challenge. Changing it's enemys & items locations, with a limit save mechanic, (cassette tapes) which brings back the ink ribbon days.
